    only one thing,there are different types of thermite. For instance Sillicon thermite- aluminum powder, sand, and sulfur powder. But your still right.

    You're not right! Rust is not Iron Oxide. Rust is FeO(OH)

    you can do it with Al and CuO or Al and SiO2 or Mg and Fe2O3 ect... but yea the Al and Fe2O3 is the most common one.

    you can make thermite aout of many metal and metal oxides - even some none metal oxides. generaly if you get a metal oxide and mix it with another metal that is more reactive and heat it up it will displace the other metal.
