    Yeah that was my mistake, 1 m3 of water takes up 1000kg of space as 1 cubic decimeter is .001 cubic meter

    i know right? but the m^2 had the same value as the kg, and since there is 1000kg of water takes up m^3 of space, then the thickness must be 1/1000th of a meter; a milimeter
