In the many days leading up to the main event, the volcanic island of Krakatoa experienced heavy activity. On August 26 1883, the volcano violently exploded, tearing itself apart, and creating the loudest noise recorded. 36 000 died from the 18 tsunamis.

Nice work mate! +1. Little fact doe ya. The noise(as you said) was the loudest noice recorded, so loud it was heard here in Australia! Infact it was heard in Newzealand aswell! 30,000km away! So the sound traveled from Indonesia was heard 50,000km away. If i was around back then, i would have heard it.
