btw, is there any way I can get more.. reliable contact with you? I'm still not giving up on getting you to look at scrolls. What would be the best way to get in contact with you, and possibly fix whatever issues you're finding with the game?

Yes, the Minecraft servers are down. EULA changes, MS buying Minecraft, MC 1.8 and so on have made it a real pain in the arse to keep a sever running. Plus, "hardly anyone even plays it any more" lied Matt vigorously. Basically, the servers are dead. We may bring them back at a later date if the issues are resolved, but all we have right now is hope. Thanks for your time.
