Friction ignites it. I have had to use magnesium torches in an accident one time, and all i had to do to ignite them was to strike them against the street

YOU DON'T SAY

When magnesium comes into contact with water, it forms magnesium oxide and hydrogen gas, both of with are quite reactive and combustable.
-
Those emergency red flares/torches they use on the roads after an accidet are magnesium
-
where are the photons? And why does it explode when water touches it?
-
The only realistic part is how hot it burns. I have actually experimented with magnesium, and in a solid block it is very difficult to ignite. And it definantly does not burn/explode when water touches it. For now, +0

Nice magnesium, try to figure out a way to make it not burn forever though. +1. I made 2 flare guns, one sets the color of its flare. You can use them for your logo if you want. id:1711931

Your brain is quite different from mine, too. (in a good way)

But... magnesium doesn't spontaneously ignite when it comes into contact with water, that's the alkali metals (like rubidium, which this has). Magnesium is an alkali EARTH metal, which is quite different.
