And @Ddcking the nucleus contains chromosomes, which are coiled up strands of DNA. Genes are specific parts of the Chromosomes/DNA that control specific features of the cell, body, etc.

@Skaterboybob actually animal cells contain all of these things as well (minus the Lorax). The two biggest things that a plant cell has that an animal cell does not is Chlorophyl/Chloroplast and the cell wall. Also, even if this in not an animal cell, that does not mean that it is a plant cell. There are other types, for example fungi or bacteria.
