This house has been there, done that. It's been lived in a lot. It's cluttered, cockeyed, but comfortable (the steam heat really works!). And yes, there are ghosts in the attic.

    It works OK with coal, but the whole set-up would have to be changed. Just doesn't look right feeding coal from an oil tank. Trust me, I knew how to stoke a coal furnace once upon a time. ;)

    I think the heater looks better when you convert it to coal. DIY conversion: replace etrd with tesc, set ctype of dtec under tesc to bcol and finally set ctype of the pcln to bcol.
