@TheExplosionTeam. It has nothing to do with drag or particles. if you delete the clne and view in pressure display (press 2) you will se it still happens. the hole can be centered and it still works. it is just how pressure works in TPT. All the particles fire or not are just following the pressure waves.
Reminds me of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. burner anomalies
If you get rid of the walls there are two collums of fire that go away from each other and then hit each other and that keeps happening in a cycle
rebound*, excuse my spelling error. Oh, and +1
Ok, so, first, the hole is off center. Second, its because of how the game simulates pressure and drag. Every particle, fire or not, has drag when moving, this drag can cause an area of negative pressure behind the positive area of pressure, causing the particles to rebind. Once the particle bounce back, it happens on the other side.
Hmm, it works even without the flame. I now think that it is simply the interference pattern caused by the overlapping air waves.
Okay, so after looking at it with an advanced pressure display, I know why it happens. As the PUMP pushes fuel to the side with the flame, the flame moves farther to that side. As it gets closer to the CLNE, where more fuel is concentrated, pressure builds up and it is pushed back over to the other side, where the cycle is repeated.
i really like how creativ ppl can get in this game, but -1 for wasting my time on this... just keep up work, got more views that i ever had soooo! XD
