    If Earth had 2 moons we would know. If it's too small to see and still in Earth orbit it would be classified as a satellite.

    While Earth was still forming (was molten) an object very close to Earth in the same orbital area slammed into it. The evidence is on that giant black spot on the moon. It would have had enough force to send molten bits into high Earth orbit, which eventually formed the moon.

    Earth have 1 moon that we see with naked eye ,@Nathan Theia was a planet that smashed into the earth and created moon
