    Yep, on average it hits every 18,595 years - formula: 2^42 / (60s * 60 * 24 * 365 * 60fpsec / 8 fpsprk). Looks like I am better off just calculating my chances rather than experimentally trying. ;-)

    Practically impossible. each pulse has a 1 in 2^42 chance of hitting, which is i in 4,398,046,511,104. each pulse has a 0.0000000000227373675% chance to hit. After 13,946 years, you have a 63% chance of hitting.
