The first atomic bomb. July 16th, 1945. Raise and lower the device in its tower with controls on right. Makes a mushroom cloud with smoke and alt. velocity- if you use alt. velocity, and bomb casing fully dissolves. Try different heights of burst!

@eli573: I was considering making a separate save that is more accurate, and doesn't focus on the Rayleigh-Taylor instability. Sounds like a good idea- maybe I'll include "Jumbo" and the 100 ton TNT control ;)
-
@QAPLA Maybe when you update it, if you choose to, you can make the scale bigger so you can make the bomb bigger and ad more TNT..
-
@eli573: Nice, you know your stuff. Yeah, you're right, it is- I tried to make it more accurate in that sense, but it ended up being too bulky to make fx I was happy with...I diiiid add a tiny bit of TNT though yo! While its not a significant enough amount to actually compress the pit, it does help with achieving enough pressure to make the thing pop, and contributes to the blast fx overall.
-
@QAPLA However, it is supposed to be triggered by the shockwave of the (nonexistant in this save) explosives.
-
@QAPLA Wait, sorry. It actually did have an Urchin detonator. Sorry for spreading inacurate information.
-
@QAPLA I was pointing this out, as they likely didn't have this tech in 1945. Nuclear weapons at that time were somewhat unreliable, inefficient, and cumbersome. The modulated neutron initiator might have not been in "The Gadget," attributing to it's inefficiency and lack of saftey..
-
@eli573: Thanks man. Actually, this prototype device featured a modulated neutron initiator at the center of the pit to kick-start the fission reaction at the right moment, and many if not most implosion types have this as part of their design. Along with the other features of implosion types, this initiator improves safety, efficiency, and efficacy in a device's attainment of critical mass- and subsequent reaction success.

It's good someone remade "The Gadget." You should make it an actual implosion type, not one that generates neutrons mysteriously from the center of the "The Gadget."
