    @Schmolendevice Vertex shaders have got to wait, unfortunately. They are of rather limited use in Powder Toy. @QuanTech Yes, you can make it such that the user can select the colour, just swap out the RNG for a row of buttons. But this was just a demo, didn't want to make it too complicated.

    theoretically one could program a paint thing where there are 5 pixels with different colors, you click on one pixel, and then you can draw on the screen with that color.

    @danieldan0 If you want, you can always use both this screen and the previous one, and sync the data. Anyway, you can't have a high-res touchscreen. The touch circuitry uses the full width of each pixel -- it doesn't look like it because of subframe magic, but it does.
