@tornados the reason why is beacuse the band of totality stretches across the center of the united states. People in canada and mexico will only see a less than 40% eclipse and will not experience things such as seeing the solar corona, shadow bands, or a 360 degree sunset and it will not get dark. you can a total solar eclipse in several states, and you can find maps online to show you what cities will experience totality. -

I don't like how the only country of importance in the eclipse is the U.S, even though many Canadians will get to see the glory of a solar eclipse. -

@Coffee All the suns brightness will be around the moons circle making it 10x brighter , You will get eye bad damage and most likly blindness . Look it up :) -

@SiliconLabs the thing about blindness is over exaggerated, but still, you shouldnt look directly at the eclipse with no protection, it will be the same as if looking at the sun normally and will cause the same eye damage. -
