    @People who don't understand why he is smiling: Have you guys ever heard about the theme of "appearance vs reality" Clearly you haven't(i am not going to explain that theme right now,). Anyways to answer your question/s he is smiling to hide the suffering and saddness he feels inside, hence you see tears in his eyes. This can be applied to real life as sometimes your closest friends that always seem to be happy and cheerful may be hiding their saddness from you so you won't worry about them.
