    Fermi Paradox goes into it, but, the Fermi Paradox meanms the age of the Galaxy is old enough to be colonized over and over again. While we (Homo sapiens) are the new neighbors on the block.

    Yes we humans are terrible species that just kill each other in horrible wars, we are violent species maybe "they" want better of us and are observing us like you said they might be ignoring us until we make planet wide peace.

    If I was a extraterrestrial species I would definitely ignore other life until a certain stage.

    I believe extraterrestrial species know we are here and choose to ignore us. We haven't met their technological needs or they don't like War Specie's, just look at us, do we look interesting on a galatic scale? No, we don't. We have nothing to offer in their eyes. Other than resource's and a planet.
