In that case, we shall begin more mass extractions of the vulcanic sulfur, make the bases easily evacuatable and don't store large amount of raw materials on them, because if one of those volcanoes decides it will want to make their day bad, I don't want to loose a lot of resources. Just in case build bunkers in them that could withstand the volcano and give the workers a backup if they can't get out of the base/blast radius.

Create a port within the colony, get settled, and expand south for the colony; east for the mainland.

I continue exploring and expanding north, and start building railways. I also construst steam-powered cannons (I'm assuming that I don't have gunpowder.)

ok lets start researching steampower, continue to expand SE, scan controlled territories to find places to set up mines, cut down trees and give out free firewood to those who need it, and set up a national bank.
