But what you're talking about does not automatically mean that saves should be of low quality. It also doesn't mean that saves don't need to be good either, or actually have some effort put into them. You see, my concerns aren't purely vein and done in the pursuit of some arbitrary glory of Internet Points. No, my wish is to promote this game as an artistic medium for people to actually learn and create.
As I said before, FP is obviously a place for saves to go when enough people say they like it. I also said -- and I quote -- "So why did you like the save? Obviously because you liked it. There isn't a problem with that in most instances; do it all you want for all I care." I was literally saying that it's okay for people to like saves that they like. I even share this attitude.
@Plasmey_401k, I am not promoting the idea of attention, and whatnot. I actually think it can be a bad thing. But what you said about FP not mattering is entirely your own opinion, and it completely goes in the opposite direction of the point I was making.
It may as well not exist and nothing (hopfully) would change in the community. I'd rather see saves for the sake of sharing what you like rather than saves for the sake of attention, fame, or FP.
The FP was never about quality or time spent or skill or anything, really. It's just a sort of indicator as to what a few people in the community like at the exact moment a save was publishe. The FP doesn't matter. You don't anything out of it other than "Hey, would ya look at that?"
r33ses back at it again with the text walls
To name a few, user:thechubbyhusky, user:ThePiksu, user:Coffee, user:Wasteland, user:Thelastspartan, user:NUK3, user:VIP84, user:LBPHacker, user:RCAProduction, user:Security-Drone, user:yuyu, user:Synergy, user:FuriousWeasel, user:Qweryntino, user:arK, user:mecha-man, user:A_Real_Genius are all people who have been inspired and helped to propagate inspiration. To me, I always thought that this game was about learning.
please mods don't delete the paragraphs. I pertains completely to the save, and it is actually interesting.
The people that want to do great and attempt to inspire others begin to dwindle. Now, I've grown to stop being so stressed about the 'situation' the game is in now, despite what this wall of text has made it look like. It's not a huge deal and it's not like a large number of people had been adversly affected by this long-time issue -- it was all a matter of logical failure. I'm just disappointed that this game couldn't flourish as a creative medium for most of the players using it.
