    Tbh there either needs to be a new label/name with a better sound and connotation, so you could say: "Nah. I'm not a furry, Im just a (insert better name here)" Most furry haters have one brain cell! so they should probably fall for it.

    Most of the hate is in part due to the stupidity of a single sliver of the generally furry population. If people didn't label themselves, the world would be a better place. Labels are pointless, and exist only to compartmentalize ourselves for ourselves and others. So what if you like anthro characters? There's nothing inherently wrong with that, it's when you intentionally adopt a label that is primarily associated with weirdos that the hate begins to flow.

    In all reality, I think a lot of the hate stems from the stupid name and clan-like reputation. The zombie fans don't call themselves Necros, even if they have dressed up as zombies, and have a zombie oc. If it pretended to be an established thing, it would probably attack bad/loud people that would give it a horrible reputation.

    I was getting annoyed by Zombie fiction, and was like "UGH STOP!" and I realized... It's okay to be a fan of corpses walking around, and even make characters with these ideas, (I've seen em), but it's not ok to like vulpine or lupine characters. It's like assuming all zombie fans are into necrophilia.
