    Plus getting to the ceiling next to the nearest smoke detector wouldn't be very easy

    If this was in a real building this would need at least a button or switch to activate manually if there's no sensor nearby

    An alarm would have several notification devices and manual activation, maybe you could add like a flashing white light with red casing using LCRY
