Another thing is, I don't want to stop copying. Sometimes, people take other people's work and improve it. Even more common is when people save it in stamps, as local saves, or as private saves. I wouldn't want to limit what can be copied in stamps, since I (used to) do that a lot too. One thing I might do is at least save where it was taken from inside the save, that way I can easily see if it was stolen or not.
No, i mean, saves are generated with binary strings, arent they? Cuz if they do, you can simply seek for big parts of the binary code shared with another file and tell it to an admin!
The way to stop copying is impossible. Unless you identified the original poster of the save and the other save was EXACTLY IDENTICAL. It would work. But even then, people could add like an extra sign, or one pixel of a powder or anything to the save and render it not a copy to this game. :/
You might just build some program to forbid identical saves and look up for similarity between them!
cyberdragon442: But that password protection would just be easily bypassed (like in a mod like mine). I wouldn't want to completely prevent all copying, that might not be a good idea, and what if you wanted to save it as a stamp or local save?
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah, yeast blows it up:)
