18th feb 1944 after the capturing of pearl harbour about 40 second after this photo was taken the were attacked and all killed by a japanese fighter plane

if my memory serves me correct, either 1 or 2 of the flag raisers were KIA on Iwo Jima after this photo was taken. also, this was the second flag raised, i forget what happened to the first, but for some reason it was taken down. one was a marine, another navy, another medical officer, the other 2 i forget. Around Halloween in DC, they host a marathon that either starts or ends at the Iwo Jima memorial. Please correct me if you know for sure (not just saying so beecause you want to) that i am wrong. appologies for the long message.

Personally, I think you should just take out the DRIC. It looks just as good without it, and it's pausable.
