Thermonuclear reactors need a lot of energy to work, but they produce even more energy. That's why it's an efficient way to produce power. And 1-2 Hydrogen atoms heated with lasers under high pressure is enough to create fusion.

    Note: You may want to turn off heat transition, when you want heat to build up in the core, otherwise the water will cool the core down a little.
