    MEOWS, Its a "filter" because it filters out particles coming directly at it and some from the back side. It was never intended to catch sidways photons or all those coming from the back

    Meows, that is because it is not just one straight beam. Diagonals get through easily.

    firing a photon beam (default mous size and phot element) makes waaaaay more than 0.01% get through

    Think of it as tinted glass that absorbs light from the left but lets light through from the right.
