Have a good timezone dependent day/night!
Ok, I have to get off as well, have a nice day/night
Your welcome! If you need anything else, ask me within the next few moments. I will have to go and won't be back for the next few months.
Thank you, this is really helpful!
Ask me about individual elements if necessary, the wiki isn't too much help. :|
After that is tmp2. Not used widely as it plays very few roles. It determines the colour of quartz and sets the range of cray and dray I think. Ask me if you want to know more. :P
Next is tmp. Contrary to it's name, tmp actually means "temporary value" and it stores certain data, such as effects. Have you noticed that by changing the tmp of brick from 0 to 1 causes it to glow blue? and that from changing the tmp of filt from 0-9 causes it to cycle through different modes? You can experiment with this value at your leisure.
Next up are life values. The life value determines how long an element has to live. for example burning coal with a life of 50 will disappear after 50 frames. Electric sparks on any conductor last for 4 frames before a rest period of 4 frames before being able to spark it again. this can be avoided through the use of subframe (ask me this if you want).
For example. Changing the ctype on clne from nothing to dust will cause it to start cloning dust. Change it to frzz and it will start cloning freeze powder, etc... Next we have the temp. Pretty basic, measured in degrees Celsius, but in the console it is measured in Kelvins. Minimum temp is -273.15C or 0K, maximum is 9725.85C or 9999K. Temperature changes the colour of some objects and may sometimes be related to the tmp of an element.
Each element is controlled by a series of modifiers (exceptions are walls). The effects that these modifiers apply vary on each element. In order to toggle them press "D" on your keyboard. You may know these as the ctype, temp, life, tmp and tmp2. The ctype isn't used to often. It is used in clone type elements, such as clne, bcln, pcln, etc... Like all properties it can be edited within the console (ask me about this if you want).
