First, a GLOW MOPA laser is used to generate pulses of light. Then, PHOT are converted to NEUT, moderated in ICE, put through a GLAS block (creating Cherenkov PHOT radiation), and the NEUT dumped into MERC.

    Oh, you're right. These PHOT move at an angle, so the NEUT can overtake them.

    msasterisk: The generated neutrons after moderation go a tiiny bit faster than the photons. You can see it'll stop working if you add a bit more ICE thickness.

    But the NEUT goes slower than PHOT in GLAS... shouldn't it go faster to create these pulses? I think? +1 anyway for sheer hynoticness
