Today we will be discussing what truely is an acid and a base. Hopefully everyone did their homework from last class. Alright jumping right in can anyone tell me what makes a strong acid strong?

@destroyer555, no strong acids are defined as such in the save. There happens to only be 7 acids that have a weaker conjugate base than the hydronian ion. Your k expression is correct but it doesnt account for certian situations (i listed the general formula). All information on this save is accurate.

    1) nothing defines a 'strong acid' strong acids are HCI, HF, H2SO4, HBr, HNO3, HCIO3, and HCIO4 if it's not on the list it's weak. pH =/= strong/weak acid. And you shouldn't use gold since it doesn't react with acids. The K expression is k= [C][D]/[AB] AB= reactant.
