By exploting a unique property of portals, photons and their colors can be stored and subsequently read onto FILT using DETC. Can hold 80 photons in the portal subspace at once, but the subspace is not saved with saves; it is client-side.

Is that so? I had made numerous observations to the contrary, but I suppose we are all surprised every once in a while. Still, it could potentially see a tiny amount of use somewhere.

From observations of storing a simple sequence of numbers, 1 to 5, in that order, it appears that the results exit the portal in a random order and at a random time. That wouldn't serve too well for a temporary, sequential photonic RAM unless you intended on storing a list of integers in no particular order.
