I don't think it's a glitch. Interesting though I guess. (Actually if we ever decide that .tmp can only be positive, this would break, not sure if that will happen though)

I've sorta made this as an actual modded element before, it works exactly like grvt does but with the negative gravity as you mentioned, propelled aswell. Adding a negative gravity or positive gravity function to anything just makes it behave strangely, liquids look like they have surface tension or something when they have gravity, strange.

So if a theoretical "white" hole moved faster than the speed of light (and speed of gravity (thats why if the sun disapeared we wouldnt notice it for about 8 minutes, also earth would orbit around nothing for 8 minutes.)) it would propel itself?
