If anyone knows why this happens, I'd be interested to hear. Is it something about math, or something about how The Powder Toy works? Maybe to do with particle update order? Do with this what you will :P
Since it doesn't work after being saved and reloaded, I think it is to do with update order, and the number assigned to each particle. More info would still be nice though
