From 1941 to 1945, over 17.1 million people were systematically killed in Europe. Never underestamate the consequences of hate.

If anti-furries aren't stopped or educated, we might get a situation like this where they will shoot and kill fursuiters and replicate the Holocaust, is that true?

Almost all of the 10.3 million are people of Slavic decent and about 6 million are Russian.

However, I have reviewed my previous count and have decided to include over 10.3 million others. It is my understanding that although many of these deaths are the result POW camps and war crimes, they were too killed because of Germany's belief that some people did not deserve to live. Because of this belief, it would be irresponsible for me not to include them in the definition of genocide.

Originally, I only decided to count deaths that were unrelated to the bleakness of war. Many Russian deaths were a result of Soviet POW camps and war crimes. It was hard for me to count these as it was not clear whether these people died directly because of the state imposed system of death or simply as a consquence of war. I had counted the victims I counted because it was clear that they were killed because of Germany's intentions to eradicate certain people.

I do not intend this as a criticism, I simply do not understand your decision to specifically limit your 'memorial' to only some of the victims. There is almost an entire generation on my family tree where the names are crossed out and the names of death camps written below. Their deaths are NOT more tragic than anybody else's.

I do not understand why you choose to focus only on a small subset of the actual number of victims. To say "they are not counted as part of the Holocaust" doesn't explain anything. Murder is murder, regardless of the reason or the identities of either victim or killer. I suggest that mourning a strictly-defined set of 'Holocaust victims' devalues the deaths of the other victims.

nikolayplotnikov2: Civilian deaths of the Soviet Union are usually not counted in what is known as the Holocaust because many of them were due to the Soviet Union's aggression toward its own people. I am not denying that Germany committed horrific acts against the Soviet people but for the purposes of this save, they are not counted. This is the last thing I will say on that.
