    Cold fusion is something that should work at entirely different principle than regular fusion and does not work at all based on our current knowledge of physics.

    then cold fusion drive is even worse, because fusion engine are classed as a type of thermal engine where temperature of the "combustion" are the important factor(which increase exhaust velocity) and cold fusion are well, cold fusion, they are colder then regular fusion thus lowering effciency

    The difference between "exotic" engines and regular rocket or ion engines is just the speed of the particles from the thruster. In case of rocket and ion engine, it is just several km/s while in the "exotic" engines it is near-light or FTL speed. To accelerate the particles to such velocity, you need LOTS of energy.
