This station routinely enters and exits the atmosphere of multiple planets, due to such conditions of atmospheres, there is a large cramic tungsten qurtz composite shield to protect the station from atmospheric reentry.

@7shotsolo do you realize that in the Dhumavati Star system, there are millions of small military outpost scattered across the system, you can take the larger outpost on planets, but you'll never fully conquer a system (unless you got there before inferstuture was setup or no one was there before).

and we are near the High Atmospheric Station so expect some astronomical bodies to look severely distorted

oh did you forget, we now have colonized 9 star systems.

Each layer is a significant increase in density

Here are the results: Uppermost layer of the sun (very low density): heatshield starts to melt and break from the temps., engines turned on to try to get out, 2nd layer (low density): heatshield keeps melting, front starts melts, 3rd layer of sun (med density): front keeps melting, fires start, comms disabled partially, backup supply of oxygen turned on,

4th layer of sun (significant density): front and middle melts, comms fully disabled, more fires, deut leaking and expanding, cooling sytem melting, ship builder flooded, reactor explosion, radiators melting, engine stops working, back of ship starts to melt, 5th layer (photosphere): radiators stop working, entire ship becomes molten and falls apart

We dropped it into the sun for science

yeah but at those temps radiators wouldn't work right? The extra surface area would just conduct more heat to the craft

But do note that stars have no real surface per say, it's still fairly close to vacuum there. So you would need to go rather deep to encounter plasma of any sugnifcant density, and by that point your shield would be very bowl shaped to block the radiation, you would also need many radiators to keep the temp of your spacecraft down.

Anthor thing, Red Giants have a surface temp of ~3000K. ( I haven't checked the facts in a while tho.) so this may be flying into a red giant.
