No, I mean the upside down m (used in IPA). The silent 'e' in words like "mate" is useful, as it signifies long vowels (i.e. "mate" != "mat"). Either keep the silent 'e', move it to after the vowel (so "mate" becomes "maet"), or just double the letter (so "mate" becomes "maat").

Why would you need to 'fix' the alphabet, just by removing a few letters. The English alphabet is already quite small, and the only smaller alphabets are Italian and Rotokas
Replace "oo" with "" (upside down m), so "foot" and "boot" would become "ft" and "bte". comes after Z in the alphabet.
