On the control panel, "S" is the automatic safety system, which will scram the reactor if it gets to 1000C, and "V" is the auxillary valve which can make the coolant system flow in certain situations where it gets clogged at the heat exchanger.

    V is for the safety valve that can be opened in case of the coolant clogging the heat exchanger- doesnt usually need to be used
