Technical tip: you can get 30 shades of gray by painting with ROCK and using the PROP tool to set the rock's tmp2 property to a number between 0 and 29 where 0 is the darkest shade and 29 the brightest.

The left side of the cube should probably be darker, as the lighting suggests that the light source is on our right. Thus, the left face should be fairly dark, after considering that the bright wall will illuminate it,
and since it appears the light source is above the rectangle, the top face should be about the same brightness as the floor, if not brighter if your light source is close. Additionally you might want to keep in mind the wall will illuminate the floor, but thats a very small detail.
The top part shouldnt be that dark
