What about sound? You may be thinking "But then if every particle had a sound this would sound horrible!" Well that's not it, what about instead of every particle, we made ceirtan things make noise only? https://www.kongregate.com/games/ajs11893/falling-sands does this incredibly well, only things moving up the amplitude sligthly without being a total mind-ache. If we could replicate it we could have it as an option, so people won't keep complaining about the game being mute. Or we could just add sounds to each category if we place them on the canvas and thats it, simple but no cachophony.
If you didnt read anything, and I did make this in bold to catch your attention, this isnt a cachophony simulator-esque sound system. Please read the post before deleting this. Or locking.
Note: I'm not asking for this, but if people keep asking for sound constantly you may use this as a last resort.
It's better to leave TPT soundless.
herp:
i think there was a mod like this created actually, and i messed around with it
essentially use too much sound and you'll lag the game to shit
although that was a mod and mods do tend to be glitchy but still
The main point of this post was tor try and make the sound suggestions not cacophonous. Not every particle made sound.
hy, i play, is cool, but, is, LaGGGGYYYYYY
The new version 98.1 has added sound to an anoying degree it defaults to 100 sounds max, and it won't take a new value like 1, 0, or anything else and thier is no option to turn it off, who thought spaming a bunch of voice recordings over and over agian was a good idea in a stable branch?
Logic gates get permanly shot down but not this? What joke is this?
We hear you're excited to dive into the world of sound effects in The Powder Toy with version 98.1! It's true, explosions now boom, fire crackles, and water hisses, adding a whole new layer of immersion to your creations.
We understand you might want to fine-tune the experience. While there currently isn't a dedicated volume slider in this update, we're taking note of player feedback like yours. In the meantime, you can completely mute your system or use your device's volume controls to adjust the sound level to your preference.
We're thrilled so many players are enjoying the new soundscapes, and we'll keep player feedback in mind for future updates!
Best,
