    No it can't, according to Corning Inc. It can through plastic. That's why they use it in science.

    Correct, but most acids cannot eat away at glass. Hydrofluoric in most concentrated forms cannot get through glass.

    the idea is that this Acid is known as just Acid, and for all we know it is a very strong acid

    even though your acid has been diluted or titrated, there is still HF in there, meaning it does eat away at it.
